Summer Ice Cream Treats
The adult life -- full-time jobs, family, and putting meals on the table can certainly sour the sweetness of what used to be the care-free summers of youth. Luckily it is still easy to serve up a scoop of summer fun with one of these easy-to-prepare ice cream desserts.
Amaretti Ice Cream
Don't let the workday drive you crazy; instead, get nutty with this amaretto flavored dessert.
Ingredients:
16 amaretti cookies, crumbled
4 shots amaretto or other almond liqueur
8 scoops French vanilla ice cream
Whipped cream, in canister
1/4 cup or 1 (2-ounce) package slivered almonds
Step 1: Crumble 4 amaretti cookies into each dessert cup.
Step 2: Douse cookies with almond liqueur
Step 3: Top with ice cream, whipped cream, and sprinkle with almonds.
